We believe that one of the most important elements of every good tango event is the music itself. The DJ can make or break the milonga.

This is why we payed special attention to our choice of the DJs. Check out our selection

Gabbo Fresedo (Italy)

Gabbo a.k.a. Gabriele, was born 30 years ago with a guitar in his hand. Playing, dancing or mixing music is a constant in his life and Tango attracts him from the very first note.
He emerges as a DJ in his town, Lecce, and then he continues his research in the milongas of Triveneto, where he currently lives.
He prefers the music of the 30s and 40s, but he actually covers the whole period between the 20s and the 50s, always attentive towards the comfort of the public.
His girlfriend says about him: “He listens more to tango than my voice!” and you can often see him dance alone behind the turntables

Nemanja Maric (Serbia)

Nemanja is a regular DJ at largest and most visited Belgrade milongas. He plays music since 2007. His enthusiasm has certainly contributed to the development of Belgrade tango scene. Besides organizing milongas and playing tango music in Belgrade, he also participated on various international tango events in Slovenia, Italy, Croatia, Spain, Hungary, Macedonia, Netherlands, Germany, Austria, Ukraine, Bulgaria, Romania, Latvia, Greece..

Theo Chatzipetros (Italy/Greece)

‘When I’m djing I like to relate with the people on the dance floor. I always try to guess which can be the best choice in order to create a nice wave and I’m making my selection always on the fly, track by track. I often think about the fact that some couples can have the best tanda ever during my set and that’s why each tanda should be constructed having a sense, a path, a sort of uniqueness that can match with the uniqueness of dancing. My experience allows me to work like this and I can’t immagine another way. The music selection is never predictable, spans the entire period of the tango and sometimes I like to surprise the dancers by proposing some rare tracks. The aim is always satisfying the dancers: nice music for dancing, warm atmosphere to enjoy. I’m using lossless files imported from my collection of CDs and LPs and I work with a sound card and professional software in order to guarantee a high sound quality.’

Irma Gross (Switzerland)

Irma’s connection to Tango is strong… Her background as a musician with classical formation influences her work with Tango – She has been the first violin of Tango-Orquesta “Silencio” for many years, she is a Tango DJ for 19 years and runs her own Milonga in Basel. Living partly in Switzerland and partly in Argentina for many years, her selection of music is strongly influenced by what is being played at the moment at the Milongas of Buenos Aires – adapting to European needs and preferences. Her concept is to carefully choose the music according to the feel of each event and she composes her Tandas in the moment, adapting the style to suit the audience. During weekend-Events Irma is also aware of what the DJs before her are playing to offer a wider variety for the audience. Beside all this, Irma is a Milonguera, a musician of Argentinian Tango and Folklore, and she has her own brand of Argentinian Tango shoes MUNAY. Irma organises two Encuentro Milongueros in Basel, “Tres Besos” and “Bomboncito”.

Gato Milonguero (Portugal/Italy)

Gato started to DJing at ‘Noche de Tango!’ (Café Lusitano, Porto) in 2005. From 2012, he has been regularly Djing in events likes Ensueños, A Promotora, Noci Tango, Roma Milonguera, Retiro Milongueiro, Spoleto Milonguera, Tango a GoGo, Experiencia Milonguera and Weekend Milonguero.
“It’s a great honour and privilege for me to be able to prepare and manage the music in a milonga – after all, everything comes down to a tough and very demanding work and care for all the milongueiros in the ballroom
…y siga el Tango!”

Ivica Anteski (Macedonia)

Ivica has been a regular Dj and organizer of milongas in Skopje for six years. Following the principle that playing music is like dancing on the dance floor with all the dancers at the same time, his musical expression is determined by his permanent communication with those who dance. Always following as much as possible the sensibility of the milongas in Buenos Aires, his music sticks to tradition, balancing between rhythm and melody.

Besides organizing milongas in Skopje, he is an owner and instructor of the school Tango milonguero Skopje. He also organized workshops in Serbia, Montenegro and Greece.

Ivica is founder of Tango Mentor www.tangomentor.com

He has played music in Mestre, Venice, Bologna, Lecce and Pradamano/Udine (Italy), Lisboa (Portugal), Barcelona (Spain), Eckenforte (Germany), Belgrade, Nis and Novi Sad (Serbia), Sofia and Varna (Bulgaria), Thessaloniki, Florina and Parga (Greece), Constanta (Romania) and had appearances with Beltango (Serbia) and Tango Trio (Macedonia).
